School-Year Curricula and Training

The Education Fund develops culturally responsive curricula to supplement core ELA and Social Science content with SEL and literacy-rich lessons that bring grade-level ELA, SS, and ELD standards to life for students. Our two curriculum products, the K-5th grade “Heart and Mind” Social Science curriculum and the 6th-8th grade “Our Voice” ELA curriculum, are both aligned with grade-level standards as well as embedding social-emotional learning competencies aligned with Cesar Chavez’s core values.

Curriculum Goals

Strengthen literacy and language development skills

I loved the training, especially the emphasis on student talk, academic discourse, the importance of circles, [and] the social justice pedagogy emphasis. I thought overall it was wonderful.
