As the Director of Archives and Exhibits at the National Chavez Center, Eric Romero is guiding the organization’s effort to preserve and make accessible the primary sources of Cesar and Helen Chavez’s lives. Eric is an experienced project manager, who has handled large scale events, grants, and programs for non-profits, museums, and universities. At the National Chavez Center, Eric is overseeing a Public Knowledge grant from the Andrew Mellon Foundation to consolidate all historic assets and begin the digitization processes for a future digital archive website. Eric has received a Masters of Arts in Education from the University of California, Riverside, a Masters of Science in Informatics from San Jose State University, and holds a Governor’s Medallion as a California Arts Scholar.
