On Call Cook
Summary
The On Call Cook is responsible for the preparation and cooking of meals at Pan y Vino by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of kitchen equipment
Assists in selecting and planning menus
Oversee staffing of kitchen operations
Inspect the premises to maintain health, safety and sanitation regulations
Establish standards for cooks’ performance, menu rates, and quality
Prepares, seasons, and cooks soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other food stuffs for consumption
Reads menu to estimate food requirements and orders food from supplier
Coordinate the overall operations of menu planning, bar and banquet activities, staffing functions, and interact with customers and vendors
Perform detailed clerical and financial duties such as handling large sums of money, and taking inventory
Handling problems and coping with the unexpected & daily tasks
Cook meals daily at required locations
Required to obtain and renew health certifications for self and cooking staff

Education and/or Experience
H.S. Diploma or GED with at least five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required
Current California Food Handlers card or can obtain prior to start date
Hourly Pay Range
$20.00 to $22.00
